With Halloween behind us and Thanksgiving just a few weeks away, we are officially into the end-of-year holiday season. Many sellers believe that it is not a good time to list their home for sale for fear of it being slow since buyers may be focused on other things. This is not true. There are some benefits to selling at this time of year:
Inventory is low. There aren't many homes currently for sale. Compared to this time last year, there are 39% less homes for sale. As a seller, this means that you'll be competing against fewer homes to find your buyer.
Qualified buyers are still out there due to the attractive interest rates.
Prices are holding. Almost 15% of homes that sold in October, sold at or over the asking price.
If you decorate for the holidays anyway, you'll home be appealing and make a nice impression on buyers.
